Welcome to my Gallery.

Like most artists, I've been making art in one form or another for my whole life.  I was finally able to study painting and drawing full time when my husband's job took us to Manhattan. My children were grown, and I left a career as a French and Latin teacher to study at the Art Students League and the National Academy of Art. Those years in New York changed my life and set me on a course that, like any exciting voyage, can be exhilarating or terrifying. Every blank canvas and every empty sketchbook is an invitation to escape, to grow, to explore, to learn new things and to challenge myself.

Oil painting is a complicated, time consuming and messy process. So, I keep a sketchbook in my purse, always ready to capture a gesture here, a face there, an array of bottles or machines at a doctor's office. I sometimes go sketching at museums or cafés with friends. Sketching is like going to the gym for my drawing skills, and it's as absorbing as painting, but simpler. I've shown you a glimpse into my sketchbooks.

I hope you like my work. I'd love to hear from you.
